This October as we celebrate dental hygiene month, thank your dental hygienist for taking great care of your teeth!

Practicing good dental hygiene is of the utmost importance to your oral and overall health, and visiting your dentist and hygienist twice a year for professional cleanings and checkups is one of the best ways you can ensure your healthy smile will last a lifetime!

Meet Our Dental Hygienists

Here at Needville Family Dentistry, we have a great team of dental hygienists, Lynette, Sara, and Jessica. We wanted to introduce each of them to you along with their most important tip or product.

Lynette has been a familiar face with Needville Family Dentistry for 17 years. She attended Wharton County Junior College and obtained her dental hygiene license in 1986.  She loves taking care of her patients and educating them about how their oral health is related to their whole body health. There are so many factors involved in keeping our body healthy and it starts with a healthy mouth. Removing bacteria on a daily basis, keeping a neutral PH level in your mouth, and having your teeth professionally cleaned can make the difference in uncontrolled diabetes, heart issues, and lung problems.  She loves the floss picks and the soft picks to clean areas between your teeth where your toothbrush doesn’t access.  Patients who find traditional floss difficult love this easy dental ‘hack’!

Sara has been a prevention specialist at our practice since early 2019. She attended Wharton County Junior College for her dental hygiene license and graduated in 2005. Her favorite product is the cordless Waterpik. She loves that her patients young and old can use it in the shower to remove plaque and food debris, eliminating the bathroom mess of the traditional Waterpik. The Waterpik not only keeps your gums healthy but can help save your teeth from decay, so you can smile for years to come.

Jessica joined our practice in November of 2020 part-time, but you may have seen her at our practice months before. She also attended Wharton County Junior College and graduated in 2015. Her favorite aspect of Dental Hygiene is educating her patients to better their oral health care especially with using an electric toothbrush.  The electric toothbrush is her favorite product because when she started using one it tremendously improved her oral hygiene.  Our oral cavity is the gateway into our whole body so oral hygiene is a very important aspect of our overall total body health.
